John Newton on Romans 7
In a letter addressed to Mrs Wilberforce, I came across this nugget. It shows us how John Newton understood Romans 7, which happens to closely correspond to the view for which I have argued in various places.
“Blessed is the one … whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season.”
